Stampin' Up Thank You Cards

A couple of Thank You cards using the Tea for Two Product Suite from the Stampin' Up Spring Catalog. Mosey on over to my The Copper Sparrow blog for more details.
I must say I really like the Delicate Details Lace Tape. It is self-adhesive, and looks so pretty.

Poirot!

Poirot!
Can't you just see his little mustache?
For Cascade Quilters we had a Crayon Challenge, and the color I drew was Indigo.
So I thought, and thought, started a project, thought some more...
eh, alors! Finally an idea to make a small wall hanging from a Dutch Treat block.
Enfin, voila! Poirot!
My quilted wall hanging is 11 1/2 inches square.
Hand reverse (recessed) applique!
Magnifique!

Tonsils are out!

So I had my tonsils removed yesterday.
Then I spent the rest of the day sleeping.
It hasn't been too bad yet, but the doctor said the 2nd day is usually the worst :(
I hope to get a little hand sewing done in between naps...:)

I have been Busy!

This year I decided to rejoin the Dear Jane Secret Pal Game.
I thought I would have more time, plenty of time to make one gift a month.
So where has that elusive time gone? Who knows?!?!
But I do enjoy the Secret Pal exchange. For March I sent a pattern of Hawaiian applique, and a coin purse with an embroidered hibiscus-that I picked up in Hawaii last month. For fabric I choose a sunny yellow and a medium teal that matched the coin purse very well.
For February, I made a Mug Rug with a heart, sent a heart coffee mug, heart candies, and made a ladybug hot pad. The quick little gifts are fun to make.
I did forget to take pictures!! April I will post with pictures!
I also did a WorldWide Quilting Day Swap with an online group.
The packages are to be opened on March 16th-Worldwide Quilting Day.
I forgot to take pictures of that too! But I made a scissors holder and a small fabric box with chocolates fabric filled with Godiva chocolate. I added a puzzle of Seattle.
For the same online group, I joined a Valentine's Day Swap.
No pictures for that either!! I sent a coffee cup with lid that hearts are supposed to appear on when you add hot liquid, candy,  a lady bug hot pad, and a heart mug rug.
Now I am working on a small applique for a Crayon Challenge for my Local Quilt Guild!
I will post picture of that when it is completed!!

Weeds, Weeds, Everywhere

I still get Blue's Clues songs stuck in head....
Weeds, Weeds everywhere, sung to the tune of Colors, Colors Everywhere.
So the annual Battle of the Weeds has begun.
Last year I pulled out 15,000 weeds.
Really.
This year my goal is 20,000.
So far 700. It is the beginning of spring, so they are tiny. But that doesn't make it easy.
Let the Battle begin!

Wow! Where have I been?

It has almost been 2 months since my last post....
January was V's birthday and my sister, her twins, and my dad were here to visit.
We had a great, very busy weekend. Friday, the birthday day, we all went out to the Big Fish Grill-one of V's favorite restaurants. Saturday V had a gymnastics meet, and we all went to see her compete. Sunday the out-of-towners went to see the snow. We weren't that interested! Monday we had a birthday lunch at American Girl Bistro in Lynnwood. V really likes it :) She also used birthday money to purchase Marie-Grace. She had been wanting Marie Grace for a long time.
February was rather busy. V's party was at gymnastics, with 28 kids. It was a great time.
The kids had one hour of open gym followed by snacks and Creme Brulee Cheesecake.
Next we were off to Hawaii for a week long vacation. It was so nice to be in the warm sun. It did get a bit windy, but still it was warm and sunny. I took tons of pictures and will post some next week.
Then it was back to the usual running here and there. We've had gymnastics meets the last 2 weekends, the school play-The Little Mermaid-is this weekend. V, as a 3rd grader, just has one group song. E is on the tech crew so he is busy the entire play, but not where we can see him.
